Weather Update 27 May: May is on the side of farewell. This time in May we have seen more rain than normal. These days many states of the country are receiving pre-monsoon rains. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be relief from the scorching heat in many parts of the country for the next three to four days.
Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon has reached Sri Lanka and is moving towards Kerala coast. According to IMD, conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some parts of South Arabian Sea. It is likely to reach Maldives, Lakshadweep and adjoining parts in the next 48 hours. The IMD has forecast heavy rain in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next two days.
IMD says that ‘close watch is being kept on the progress of Southwest Monsoon towards Kerala. Normally monsoon reaches Kerala on 1st June, now it is expected to reach 4 days earlier. Meteorologists say that due to cyclone ‘Asani’ in the Bay of Bengal a few days ago, the southwest monsoon has gained momentum.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department says that even today, many areas including Delhi-NCR will remain cloudy. There is a possibility of light rain with strong wind today. The next day i.e. Sunday is also likely to be partly cloudy. By the end of the week, the heat wave will remain soft.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of rain in 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh till May 28, while there is a possibility of light rain with strong winds in more than 20 districts of the state. Bihar had received heavy rains last week and now once again heavy rains have been expected between May 28 and May 30. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in different parts of Jharkhand till May 31.
During the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain at one or two places over eastern parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and South Coastal Karnataka. Along with this, moderate rains are also possible over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, parts of Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, South and East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and Telangana.
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, monsoon conditions will advance into southeast Arabian Sea, some parts of Maldives and Comorin region, south and east central Bay of Bengal and northeast Bay of Bengal. is likely to. Today, light rain may also occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Odisha as well.
