Weather Update: There is a severe outbreak of heat in many states of the country. In many states of North India, it has remained around 44-45 degrees for some time. According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department (IMD), people will get relief from heatwave in many areas from today to next one week.
According to the latest MID forecast, from today till May 24, there may be some heavy pre-monsoon rains in Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, due to pre-monsoon rains, the entire Delhi-NCR may see a drop in temperature. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of getting relief from the scorching heat due to thunderstorms and rain in some parts of the region in the next few days.
According to the IMD, thunderstorm, dust storm or gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur over Delhi-National Capital Region and adjoining areas. IMD has also predicted light rain in far flung areas of the city. The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for May 23 and 24.
Along with this, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains with strong winds in the western Himalayan region during the next 5 days. From today onwards, hailstorm has been predicted in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.
There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Jammu and Kashmir today. An official of the Meteorological Department said that during the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of thundershowers at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Coastal and South Karnataka and Kerala today. However, there is a possibility of less rain in these areas after Sunday. At the same time, there is a forecast of rain in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday and Assam, Meghalaya, Bengal and Sikkim during the next two days.
