In states like Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, the temperature has reached around 45 degrees. At the same time, in states like Assam, Bangalore and Kerala, the rains have increased the problems of the people. In many states of North India, the heat is going to be troublesome for a few more days.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather pattern may change in many areas today and there may be rain with strong wind. The IMD has forecast rain with thunderstorms in many parts of the country today amid scorching heat.
However, for the last several days, people have got some relief from the heat in Delhi-NCR. The weather pattern seems to have changed a bit here. Due to the effect of Western Disturbance, the mercury in the capital Delhi has dropped by five degrees in the last four days. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Delhi can remain between 42 to 29 degrees today. There is a possibility of light rain in many areas on Friday. While there is a forecast of light rain with strong winds on Saturday.
Meanwhile, incessant rains have led to a flood situation in Assam and neighboring states. At the same time, there is a situation of waterlogging in Bangalore due to rain. In Kerala too, normal life is disturbed due to rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in many areas of Kerala today. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has asked people to stay away from rivers and other water bodies till the rains subside. The SDMA has asked people not to travel to hilly areas unless there is an emergency.
However, the news of relief is that the monsoon has knocked in the country, due to which people are expected to get relief from the heat soon. At present, the monsoon is over Andaman and Nicobar and it is believed that it will reach Kerala on May 27.
