During the repairs, the bridge will be driven in each direction by three lanes instead of four. The workers will first repair the southern part of the bridge and at the same time the access ramp from Strakonická Street. The reconstruction is spread over several years. This year, the work will last 110 days and will cost 594.5 million crowns. The bridge from 1983 is part of the City Circuit and is crossed by 140,000 cars a day. It has not been repaired yet.
In the first phase of repairs, the right lane in the direction from Smíchov to Braník will be closed. In order to maintain the passage of the three lanes in each direction, the left lane will be converted in the opposite direction. Barrandov Bridge is a junction formed by two structures. In order to cross from the south to the opposite part to the north, they had to build crossings in recent weeks.
The measures will also affect Strakonická in the direction of the bridge, when it will be narrowed into one lane in front of the intersection with Nádražní. A ramp was created near the distillery for turning cars that will come along Strakonická from the south and need to drive to the Barrandov Bridge. From Wednesday next week, the reserved lane for public transport buses on Strakonická Street under the bridge in the direction of the center will be canceled due to the demolition of the mentioned ramp.
Drivers will have to follow detours, which will lead mainly along the Prague ring road, where the exit to Písnice was temporarily opened, the above-mentioned turning ramp was created near the distillery, and the capacity of the intersection at the Peace Race Bridge in Zbraslav was expanded. Traffic lights at key intersections have been modified.
