New Delhi: Country’s leading SUV vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (Mahindra and Mahindra) finally launched the next-gen scorpio (Scorpio) A new teaser has been released on its official YouTube channel, titled ‘SUV Ka Big Daddy’. The upcoming next-gen Mahindra Scorpio is codenamed Z101. The automaker is expected to launch the new Scorpio SUV in India in the coming months.
Mahindra & Mahindra has been testing the next generation Scorpio for over a year now and the car has been spied multiple testing units at various locations.
The new SUV has been designed by Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in Mumbai, and engineered at the state-of-the-art facility at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) near Chennai.
Updated design and features
Mahindra’s upcoming Scorpio (Z101) will be a premium ladder frame-based offering and is expected to feature updated design and features. The new SUV will also feature the new-gen engine offered with the Mahindra XUV700.
The teaser video shows Mahindra Research Valley and its employees discussing how to create something big, bold and innovative. Then it reveals the Big Daddy of Mahindra’s SUV coming soon. It was teased with dual-chamber full LED headlamps with sequential turn indicators, C-shaped LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.
Apart from this, no other information has been shown about the specs, features and launch date of the SUV in the teaser. However, the company is expected to launch the Mahindra Scorpio in June 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the nameplate.
Spy shots of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio revealed that the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will feature butch styling and a new front grille. The new Scorpio will also sport the brand new logo. Mahindra introduced its new logo with the XUV700. The upcoming SUV will include a revised LED head and tail lamps and LED DRLs.
The updated Scorpio will come with multiple seating options in 6 and 7 seater layouts. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio was seen with 360-degree cameras, rear disc brakes, turn indicators, cruise control and connected car technology with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Alexa support.
It could get high speed alert in the form of multiple airbags, front parking sensors, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system and safety features. It will also get speed sensing door lock, rear parking sensor, ABS and EBD.
Powertrain
The new Scorpio is likely to come with 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, and Mahindra is expected to offer manual and automatic gearboxes on both the engines, with four-wheel drive for the top-spec variant. Likely to be reserved. ,
It will be sold alongside the existing Scorpio which was recently updated. It will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
