Mumbai: Former India head coach Ravi Shastri believes that Punjab Kings’ uncapped pacer Arshdeep Singh can make his way into the national team with a stellar performance in IPL 2022. In Punjab’s match against Chennai Super Kings, Arshdeep paved the way for an 11-run victory for just 14 runs in the 17th and 19th overs.
Earlier, Arshdeep had traveled with the Indian team as a net bowler for the white-ball series in Sri Lanka last year and was included in the squad following the outbreak of COVID-19.
“Arshdeep has been bowling brilliantly and he is doing well in the death overs and it shows that he can be seen playing for the Indian team very soon,” Shastri said.
Sunrisers Hyderabad batting coach Brian Lara claimed that pacer Umran Malik will play for India in future. Malik has bowled his 140 plus kmph pace and, despite being costly in the beginning, has taken wickets in crucial victories for his team.
He said, “Umran Malik reminded me a lot about Fidel Edwards, bowling very fast when he first started out and I hope he understands that as he will be able to enter international cricket soon. Will play.
Another uncapped young Mumbai Indians batsman Tilak Verma has impressed former India captain Sunil Gavaskar with his batting.
