Heat wave is forecast for today over Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and also over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Rajasthan and South Haryana.
In many areas including Delhi-NCR, there is a possibility of heat wave with severe heat even today. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to remain above 40 degree Celsius even today. At the same time, the mercury is likely to reach 44 degrees Celsius due to the outbreak of heat wave in the next two-three days.
However, the Messam Department says that today isolated rain and thundershowers may occur in the adjoining plains of Punjab, Haryana and West Rajasthan. On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Coastal Karnataka.
According to the Meteorological Department (MID), there is a possibility of severe heatwave in South Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from today. Along with this, there is a possibility of heat wave in Rajasthan, South Haryana and Vidarbha from Tuesday to April 28.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. Light to moderate rain may occur over parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, West Himalayas, Sikkim, Himalayan West Bengal and East Bihar. Light rain and thundershowers may occur over Jharkhand, parts of South Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha.
