Thanjavur: At least 11 people were killed and 6 seriously injured after electrocution occurred during a temple festival at Kalaimedu in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district.
The accident took place when the temple car came in contact with the overhead live wire, resulting in the death of 11 people. Six people have been seriously injured in this incident.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and district officials rushed to the spot for emergency services.
The chariot was taking a turn, but it faced some obstacle. It was then being reversed when it came in contact with the overhead line.
According to PTI, three people who were injured have been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College. The chariot was completely damaged in the collision.
