San Francisco: After news emerged that Twitter’s board had accepted Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s offer to buy the company, the micro-blogging site was flooded with reactions and memes. The acquisition of Twitter by Tesla CEO has received mixed reactions from users.
One user wrote on the micro-blogging platform, “Elon Musk has finally set up Bluebird.”
According to reports, more than 200,000 Google searches were conducted for ‘Elon Musk Twitter’ on Monday.
One user tweeted, “Remember that at the time at the rate Elon Musk told the hashtag United Nations that if they could prove they could end world hunger with $6 billion, they gave him a Gave a detailed breakdown and didn’t donate the money, but then bought Twitter for $45 billion so they could add an edit button to it?”
Another user wrote, “Elon Musk buying Twitter isn’t that big a deal, though it’s a nice change. People have a right to see the opposite of their opinion, let there be a battle of ideas.”
Many users also started speculating that the account of former US President Donald Trump could be restored.
One user wrote, “Which banned account do you most want to restore once it’s under the control of Ethereum Elon Musk?”
However, the report said that Trump has decided not to join Twitter despite Tesla CEO Elon Musk buying it, saying ‘Twitter has become too boring’.
Trump said he would not return to Twitter and would instead use his ‘Truth Social’ as the only social media platform.
Twitter announced late Monday that it has acquired Twitter for approximately $44 billion at $54.20 a share.
Upon completion of the transaction, Twitter will become a privately owned company.
