
More than 9 crore free LPG connections
Government organization PIB has released a report on this scheme, according to which LPG coverage has increased to 104.1 percent in 2022, from 62 percent in 2016. It has been mentioned in the same report that giving benefit of PM Ujjwala Yojana, more than 9 crore deposit free LPG connections have been given in the last 6 years. 35.1 percent of the beneficiaries of the scheme belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Know the law of age
Keep in mind that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government gives LPG connections only to the beneficiaries living below the poverty line. Secondly, the benefit of this scheme is given only to women and the age of the applying woman should be at least 18 years. Apart from this, if there is any other LPG connection under this scheme in the same family, then the benefit of the scheme will not be given.

Must have documents
E-KYC (Know Your Customer) has to be done for Ujjwala connection. It is necessary to have a BPL ration card or ration card issued by any state government, in which you have proof of being below the poverty line. You will need Aadhar card or Voter ID card as well as bank account number and IFSC code. Passport size photo will also be required.

Know the process of application
If you want to apply for Ujjwala Yojana, then go to the official website of Ujjwala Yojana https://www.pmuy.gov.in/en/. Here you will see the options of Indane, Bharat Gas and Hindustan Petroleum (HP). You can choose any one of these as per your convenience. Then fill all the required details. You can download the form. Then you can submit it to the dealer of the gas agency. After document verification, the issue of LPG gas connection will be done for you.

You will get many other benefits
The government gives many more benefits to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. They get free LPG gas connection as well as filled cylinder and chulha. Along with this, the government also gives the first refill cylinder to the beneficiaries free of cost. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 1 May 2016 by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to distribute 5 crore LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
