KJ Srivatsan, Jaipur: BJP’s fact-finding team has given its report to the party’s state president in the case of encroachment and demolition of 300-year-old temple in the name of master plan in Rajgarh district of Alwar. The head of this committee, Sikar MP Sumedhanand told News24 that the team visited three temples and houses on the spot and interacted with the general public along with the officials there. He alleged that the manner in which hammers were used on the temple and the houses of the poor people there, it is no less than a story of anarchy.
He also called the BJP Municipal Board’s approval of the proposal to remove the encroachment and demolition of the temple as wrong news and said that Congress MLA Johri Lal Meena was also present in the board meeting of which the proposal was brought. Sumedhanand alleged that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was seen running bulldozers in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. But Rajasthan is not visible.
In such a situation, the committee has said in its recommendation that the government should apologize for the temples which were demolished and those who have authorized leases should be punished along with compensation to the guilty officials. On the question of demolition of temples even in Vasundhara Raje’s government, BJP MP said that demolishing temples and removing them from that place and establishing them in another place are two different things and the truth is that in our time no temple was demolished. Because the people of BJP can remove the temple, they cannot destroy the temple.
