Mumbai: Delhi Capitals have called their openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner ‘pocket dynamos’ after playing a key role in the team’s campaign in IPL 2022. Delhi Capitals, who are ranked sixth in the IPL points table after three wins and four losses, have a chance to make the grade as they finish the tournament and if DC are successful in their endeavours, they have their ‘Thanks’ to thank. None other than ‘Pocket Dynamo’, considering that the young Indian player and the Australian legend have forged a great partnership.
They have been the team’s livewire with four half-century partnerships in the last five innings, the best of which is a 93-run stand against Kolkata Knight Riders, a match that the Delhi franchise won by 44 runs. The partnership of the two helped DC post a mammoth total of 215 and then restricted KKR to 171.
On Monday, DC posted a picture of Warner and Shaw running between the wickets with the caption ‘Pocket Dynamos’.
Both the players are of tall stature and before the start of IPL 2022 it was believed that they fit in the batting order to pair at the top.
Both have not let the team down, with players scoring 67 against Lucknow Super Giants, 93 against Kolkata Knight Riders, 50 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, 83 against Punjab Kings and 43 against Rajasthan Royals.
