Seattle: Microsoft has said it will review sexual harassment and gender discrimination policies and make public the results of an investigation into allegations against board members and senior executives, including Bill Gates.
Company policies will be reviewed
According to the news published in a newspaper, the board has said that Microsoft will take the services of third-party law company for review, which will look after the company’s business. It will also examine similar policies of other companies and the steps Microsoft has taken to hold employees and executives accountable. The review will be released in a public report, including how many cases of sexual harassment were investigated and how many were resolved.
The company wants to improve the experience of the employees
The company’s CEO and President Satya Nadella said in a statement that we are committed to not just reviewing the report, but also learning from the evaluation, so that we can continue to improve the experiences of our employees. This report is based on a shareholder resolution, which was passed in 2021. The resolution sought a report on the effectiveness of the company’s workplace sexual harassment policies with respect to claims of sexual harassment, including allegations that Gates sought an inappropriate relationship with employees.
