Veteran actor of Bollywood industry Naseeruddin Shah has targeted all the three Khans of Bollywood – Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. He says that these three do not take a stand to speak on socio-political issues. He also said that these three still rule Bollywood. Naseeruddin is known to speak openly on matters of religious discrimination in India or abroad.
Recently, Naseeruddin Shah was embroiled in a controversy for condemning those who were ‘celebrating’ the return of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. However, actors like Shahrukh, Salman, Aamir have appeared to refrain from commenting on the Talibani rule on Afghanistan. Naseeruddin has now said that he prefers to remain silent as the popularity is huge in his case. If he says something, he can be harassed.
Speaking to NDTV, Naseeruddin said, “Obviously they are worried about the extent to which they will be harassed.” “I can’t speak for them, but I can imagine they have a lot to lose,” he said. Not only finances but they will be exploited from all sides, in every way. Their entire establishments and firm will be harassed in one way or the other.”
Naseeruddin Shah said that there is no religious discrimination and Islamophobia in the Indian film industry so far, but now the government is encouraging filmmakers to make pro establishment films. Not only this, Naseeruddin also compared the government to Nazi Germany. According to TV9, Naseeruddin Shah said, “This is what used to happen in Nazi Germany. There the government used to ask filmmakers to make films that propagated the ideology of the Nazis. Now I don’t have solid evidence about Indian cinema, but you can guess from the kind of films that are coming out these days.
