Yamani is the second oil minister in Saudi Arabia, and the first secretary-general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
And the official Saudi TV announced the news of Yamani’s death, indicating that he would be buried in Mecca, according to the “Associated Press”.
Yamani studied law at Cairo University and graduated from Harvard, according to the Saudi Okaz newspaper.
Prior to his position in the oil field, Yamani served as legal advisor to the cabinet, minister of state, and member of the cabinet in 1960.
Yamani held the portfolio of the Ministry of Oil from 1962 to 1986, and played a crucial role in OPEC.
