Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted the Center over three agricultural laws and said that the BJP government’s aim is to destroy the farmers’ market, not to give them the right price for their produce. Gandhi said that the first two laws destroy the agricultural sector of the country, while the third deprives the farmers of justice. He was addressing a public meeting organized at the conclusion of the 22-day Aishwarya Yatra led by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Chennithala here. “The first law destroys the farmers’ market,” he alleged. The second is to allow the richest to buy as much grain as they want and to free unlimited hoarding. These two laws allow them to control the price of grains and vegetables. ”

“Their (government) has only one objective, the farmer does not get the right price for their produce, the middle class, the farmer, the workers, all have to pay more.” Gandhi alleged, “therefore Millions of farmers are protesting. What did the Prime Minister say? They are terrorists. “The Congress leader targeted the central and state governments over the rising fuel prices despite the low oil prices in the international market and claimed that both governments were paying money to the rich in the country. He said, “The price of oil is low in the international market but in India, the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing. Thousands of crores of rupees are being taken from your pocket every day. Where is this money going? Who is being given this money? ”

Gandhi said, “It is being given to the richest people of this country.” Both are taking money from you and giving it to the richest people of this country. This is the politics that we are trying to change. We want to work for the poor. Not for our organization or the wealthiest. This is the difference between us and others. ”He said that the visit was an opportunity to listen to the farmers, students, fishermen, elders and women of the state. The state-wide journey led by Chennithala started from Manjeswaram in Kasargod district on 31 January and ended on Sunday at the nearby Parasala.
