The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said that the President expressed his aspiration to continue developing the existing bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially at the military level, in a way that enhances the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the United States in facing common challenges in the region.
The Spokesman added that the meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries on the military, security and combating levels, as well as joint training programs and exchange of experiences.
Views and visions on the latest developments on a number of issues at the regional level were reviewed, especially in the Middle East, the Horn of Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean. In this context, it was agreed that the continuation of regular bilateral consultations and coordination between the two friendly countries regarding these issues of common interest.
For his part, the Commander of the American Central Command affirmed his country’s keenness to continue the pace of coordination and joint consultation with Egypt regarding regional issues to face the current challenges that threaten the security and stability of the region, taking into account the pivotal and main Egyptian role to support peace and stability in its regional surroundings, especially the effective Egyptian efforts in the field of Combating terrorism and extremist ideology.
