Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in the ‘Webinar on Budget Announcement 2021-22: Galvanizing Efforts for Self-reliant India’, “The next list of items that will not be imported will be notified in March 2021.”
New Delhi. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that the list of items related to the defense industry, which will not be procured from other countries, will be released next month. The Defense Minister also said that the purchase of defense equipment from private sectors will not be limited to 15 percent but it will go beyond this.

“The next list of items which will not be imported will be notified in March 2021.” The Ministry of Defense issued 101 last year. A list of goods was prepared whose import would be prohibited. Singh also highlighted plans to spend 130 billion dollars over the next five years on military modernization.

He recently referred to HAL being entrusted with the task of constructing 83 light aircraft MK1A, Tejas. The design of MK1A has been prepared in the country itself and it is being constructed. He said that contracts for light combat helicopters will also be done soon. Their design has been prepared in the country itself. The Defense Minister said that the letter of intent for the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) will be given to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, so that helicopters can be inducted into the armed forces on the country’s 75th Independence Day.
