Cold wave conditions continued in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday as well and Narnaul remained the coldest place in both the states with a minimum temperature of 1.4 degrees Celsius. Narnaul in Haryana recorded a temperature of three degrees Celsius below normal. In Hisar too, the temperature was below two degrees Celsius. Hisar recorded a minimum temperature of 1.7 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal. An official of the Indian Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperatures in Ambala, Karnal and Rohtak were 7.8, 6.5 and five degrees Celsius respectively. Apart from this, Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded minimum temperatures of 2.8 and 3.4 degrees Celsius respectively. Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius. Punjab’s Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala have recorded minimum temperatures of 3.5, 3.8 and 6.4, respectively, which is two degrees below normal. Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded minimum temperatures of 9.2, 3.4, 3.6, 3.2, 4 and 8.2 degrees Celsius respectively. In many places including Bhiwani, Sirsa and Bathinda, a thick sheet of fog was observed in the morning.
