new Delhi. In view of the bird flu spreading in the country, the central government has instructed the states to issue advisory. The government says that avian influenza (bird flu) cases have been confirmed in 10 states of the country. Apart from this, unnatural deaths of birds have been reported in Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir and four districts of Jharkhand. In such a situation, the Center has asked the states to issue advisories regarding the consumption of eggs and chicken so as to avoid rumors.
So far, bird flu has been confirmed in ten states / union territories of Delhi – Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat. The Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Dairy said in a statement that as of January 12, additional cases of avian influenza among dead crows were confirmed in HCL Khetri Nagar in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan.
